Teaching & Mentorship
During my doctoral studies at the University of California, Irvine, I served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses in urban planning and public policy.
Student evaluations over multiple years consistently highlighted clarity of explanation, responsiveness to questions, and detailed feedback on assignments.
Selected comments from anonymous student evaluations:

“He was very nice and explained thoroughly about what assignments we had to do for each week (he also made weekly announcements summarizing the schedule) and how they apply to real-life situations.”
“Being approachable and accessible to students, willing to answer questions, provide clarification, and offer guidance during office hours or via other communication channels.”
“Alex was understanding and receptive to my concerns, to which he provided enough explanation and clarification.”
"I met with Alex during his office hours to discuss jobs/the career field. He was very receptive and caring during the meeting and gave me strong advice that has helped me understand my major more."
